The costs for a building permit are as follows:

(b)   $50 for all work 400 square feet and larger.

(Ord. 1105; Code 2021)

Permits expire if work or construction authorized is not started within 180 days, or if construction or work is suspended for a period of 180 days at any time after the work or construction has begun. If a permit is null and void or expired, a new permit application is required.

(Ord. 1105; Code 2021)

A permit fee shall be paid before a permit is issued and work commences. If no permit is obtained before work begins, the permit fee shall be double its original cost before being issued. The offending party shall reimburse the City of Yates Center for costs involved in enforcing the obtaining of a permit and stoppage of work including costs of City employee time and labor, and attorneys’ fees.
